Electricians and Plumbers

It has been a long time since the last construction update and a lot has happened.  We will try to spread out the news and photos in several updates over the next few weeks.  Following the corrugated steel installation, we started working on the electrical and plumbing simultaneously.  A local contractor Roberto supervised the electrical installation and with a part-time crew of two finished the job in about three weeks.  Duane installed the plumbing (his first time being a plumber) with a lot of training and guidance from a real plumber Bill Schick.  Here is the production room before we started (with the Wulf family checking on the progress).

Here is the production room after the electrical and plumbing installation.  Note the electrical conduits primarily run down the left side where the equipment will be located.  The main water lines run in the upper right corner.  The small blue and red water lines at the far end feed the smokehouse.  “Blue” is chilled R.O. water for the shower and humidity control; “red” is hot water for the clean-in-place cycle.  There are twelve moisture-resistant light fixtures in the production room.

Here is the main electrical box in the loading dock.  The main power comes in from the transformer into the box on the left.IMG_3418

Here is the sink installed in the corner of the production room.  Father-in-law Jon Gunderson took a trip to Mexico for a few days and helped Duane with numerous tasks, including installing the drinking fountain to the right of the sink.  Note also the electrical lines which enter the production room from the loading dock.

Here is the reverse osmosis system.  The R.O. water goes into the cooler (in the yellow line) as it is produced.  When it is needed, it is pumped through the blue line, through a U.V. filter (the silver thing), to either the smokehouse (line going up) or to the spigot for use as an ingredient.  Also, shown in this photo on the left is a water mixing station for wash down (there will be a hose attached).

Here is the 100 gallon holding tank for R.O. water located in the cooler.

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.  Isaiah 40:28.
