Our Brand

Our primary products are going to be meat snack items, such as snack sticks and beef jerky, that are wholesaled to convenience stores and tienditas (little neighborhood grocery stores).  Therefore, it will be very important that we build strong brand name recognition among consumers by providing high quality products, by utilizing an effective marketing plan, and by having an attractive logo and brand name.  We recently developed a brand name and logo for our meat products.  This logo will be used on our retail labels and all promotional material.

EHUIcarnisimo

Our brand name is “¡EHUI! Carnísimo”.  Ehui (pronounced AY-wee) is a word that means yes in the language of the Yaqui Indians, the native people of Sonora.  Therefore, “¡EHUI!” (with the exclamation marks) means “YES!”.  Carnísimo is a Spanish word that we invented.  Carne is Spanish for meat.  The suffix -ísimo is used to change a word to it’s absolute superlative, similar to the -est ending in English.  For example, grande means large in Spanish, whereas grandísimo means very large or gigantic.  But the reason why “carnísimo” is not a real word is because -ísimo is only added to adjectives, and carne is a noun.  So, in other words, “carnísimo” means “meatest” or “very meat” or “super meat”, and “¡EHUI! Carnísimo” means “YES! Super Meat”.

In addition to using the logo on package labels, we plan to have promotional clothing bearing the logo available in the future.  Also, as part of our marketing plan, we plan to print window stickers that people can use in the back windows of their vehicles.  Stickers on cars are quite popular here in Sonora, and we hope people will want a charging bull with colors of the Mexican flag stuck on their pickup or car window.
